Viking World Cruise --Perfect for a King & Queen
May
Pros: Attention to Detail in Every Aspect. Genuine warmth & attentiveness, Crew made you feel like Royalty the minute you step on board until the end, amazingly CLEAN, Availibility of the officers was unbelieveable!! Food was tremendous...in presentation and taste and variety.
Cons: The ship's AC was run too cold.
Recommended: Yes
We were treated like family and at the end of 4 months, we FELT like family too! While the destinations were undeniably magical, what truly elevated the experience was the phenomenal service we received aboard our magnificent ship. Every encounter, from the attentive crew remembering our names from the very first day, waitstaff remembering our favorite drinks to the housekeeping staff leaving our room sparkling clean every day, was a testament to their dedication. The crew's thoughtfulness and acts of kindness and helpfulness truly went above and beyond. We disembarked feeling not just well-rested and exhilarated, but also deeply touched by the incredible hospitality we received.

One of our best cruises. The service personnel from the cabin gentleman to the executive chef, makes you feel that you are the most important passenger in the ship.

Top Notch Viking Ocean Cruise
October
Pros: The amaxing Viking luxeries and staff
Cons: A few dissapointing ports of call
Recommended: Yes
This was our first Viking Ocean Cruise, having experienced a river cruise a few years ago. The Viking experience was top notch; the staff goes out of their way to please, to get to know you, to thank you, to be super friendly. The food was certainly not typical "cruise food." The buffet had many, many options and the restaurants were outstanding. Our biggest disappointment were the ports of call, some of which require a long (60-90 minutes) commute to the destination city (Rome, Venice) then of course the same return time, which eats up a lot of your time. The smaller, lesser known ports were quaint but really not much to see except the local cathedrals.

Great Trip
March
Pros: Staff, Atmosphere, amenities
Cons: Fellow travelers, excursions
Recommended: Yes
Our first trip with Viking. Second cruise ever - we were married while on our first cruise 20 years ago. This trip was our anniversary gift to each other! We loved the staff and all that they added to our voyage. From airport transfers to food/drink service, from housekeeping to spa services, everything the staff provided was top notch. Weather was a bit disappointing for part of our journey, but that's not a knock on anyone. The shore excursions were a bit too crowded for our taste and felt like a Jr. High field trip at times. While ashore, our fellow travelers' inability to keep up or follow directions was a bit frustrating. The QV gizmos were convenient, but cumbersome at times.

Viking Sky Mediterranean Antiquities trip
February
Pros: Viking Sky is an exceptional ship with wonderful accommodations and staff and service. The included country tours gave good snapshots of cities and countrysides. The additionsl tours were more expansive and specially geared for select interests. All in all we enjoyed the tours with the knowledgeable tour guides. After the tours we were able to enjoy the decks, swimming pools and the sauna rooms/thermal pools. Of course the food was great and service exceptional! Entertainment was plentiful and geared toward anyone's taste since there were so many venues. We felt safe with covid testing and contact tracing. All in all it was a great experience.
Cons: The only disappointment was that no free time to explore was allowed on the tours. We realize that due to covid situation control was necessary but we were all capable adults and could have found our way to a designated spot after an hour or so to be escorted back to the ship. In the future Viking should indicate if free time is allowed in the narrative regarding tour amenities. I felt a little cheated not being able to wander through some of the streets and shops and do a little exploring in these beautiful cities.
Recommended: Yes
I have no additional comments other than we had a wonderful time and hope that covid restrictions go away or at least are loosened in the future.

Awesome Ship!
February
Pros: Lovely ship, immaculate cabins, friendly & competent crew, excellent dining options
Cons:
Recommended: Yes
This is our 2nd Viking Ocean cruise and it matched the same excellence as our first aboard sister ship Viking Sun. We are fans of the "Viking Business Model" of small elegant ships, adults only, complimentary beer/wine, complimentary tour in every port, no casinos, no photographers... you get the idea. That isn't to say we don't have fun-- the stage shows are excellent and the crew hosts great pool-deck parties with dancing, shots of aquavit, tequila, etc.
