Avanti Destinations: Fiji Short and Sweet
Day 1 Coral Coast
Upon arriving at Nadi Airport, meet your driver for a transfer to your hotel in either Coral Coast, Nadi, or Denarau. The remainder of the day is yours to relax or explore on your own. While English is an official language, and most Fijians speak English to a certain level, you will hear bula and vinaka frequently. Bula is the Fijian greeting and vinaka means thank you. Two words that will serve you well. As you explore Fiji's main towns, the Indian influence is easy to see as you walking past sari shops, and Hindu temples. For dinner this evening, try some of the exotic dishes of Fijis Indo Fijian cuisine.

Day 2 Coral Coast
After breakfast, you'll have a transfer to Port Denarau for a 25 minute cruise to the Malamala Beach Club. Surrounded by Fijis famous crystal clear waters, enjoy a full day of white sand beaches, beachside cabanas, a resort style infinity edge pool, and views across the stunning Mamanucas from Fijis best located island. It's small enough to stroll barefoot around the island in 20 minutes, yet large enough to feel like your own deserted paradise. Take time for lunch as the Club offers a delicious menu from light bites to pacific inspired meals and shared platters. The food menu is complimented by a selection of imported wines, beers and handcrafted tropical cocktails. With exceptional snorkeling in the surrounding reef off Malamala, plus complimentary non motorized water sports, take advantage of the island's clear, turquoise waters. Or just relax and soak up the sunshine with amazing South Pacific views. When you're ready to return, there are vessels departing at 4:15pm and 5:15pm to Port Denarau, with connections back to your hotel.

Day 3 Coral Coast
Today, you'll experience an Off Road Cave Safari; a half day Fijian adventure, for those who wish to take the Road Less Traveled. You'll be transported aboard an All Terrain vehicle into the Fiji interior. Your journey of discovery transports you back in time to the ancient days of cannibalism, tribal warfare and you'll see first hand where many of these battles took place. Your adventure begins with the crossing of the mighty Sigatoka, Fiji's longest river. There will be many photo opportunities as you travel through jaw dropping hills and rich green fields. Shortly you'll arrive at the betes or high priests residence. The priest and his family will warmly welcome you for visiting their part of the world, and female guests are then asked to wear their complimentary safari sulus, provided to them. Your guide will be on hand to explain the rich Fijian traditions, culture and customs, and you'll hear how the kaicolo (mountain people) used ingenious methods to survive. After the kava ceremony, the priest will lead you to the entrance of the Naihehe Cave, a short 5 10 minutes walk away. Upon reaching the entrance, take note of the vines hanging on the exterior and as you venture into Fijis largest cave. With only flashlights and lanterns to light up the cave, you'll be left in awe as you realize that you are about to explore one of Fijis greatest treasures. The cave is more than 558 feet long and as you go through the initial small opening and into a small cavern, you will soon find yourself in a larger part of the cave, as your guide provides commentary and answers any questions. Bring along a change of clothes as at the end of the tour, as you'll have the opportunity to swim in the nearby fresh water swimming hole before returning to your hotel.
