Active Elements, Epic Scenery Witness the Big Five and more on this small group safari through Tanzania’s top wildlife spots—Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and the iconic Serengeti.

Trip Overview:

Explore one of the world’s top wildlife destinations on this 7-day Tanzania safari, encompassing Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park.

Start your Tanzania vacation by touching down at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, then transfer to your accommodation in Arusha, ready to explore Lake Manyara National Park. This region stands out from other Africa safari destinations with its tree-climbing lions and over 400 species of birds, including enormous flocks of flamingos. Next, visit Ngorongoro Crater, a veritable Garden of Eden in Africa, where a wide variety of species have been sheltered within the 100-square-mile crater of an extinct volcano. All the Big Five are here, including rare black rhinos and elusive leopards.

Your final African safari destination is Serengeti National Park, known the world over not just for its abundant wildlife, but the annual Great Migration, which sees herds of zebra and wildebeest follow the season on a perilous journey across the Mara River to Kenya and back again. No matter what time of year you visit, the Serengeti has become the last word in African safaris, showcasing the East African landscape at its most dramatic, with a variety of species that reads like a photographer’s wish list. It’s also a great place to spot big cats, including cheetahs, which aren’t usually found in the Ngorongoro Crater. It’s a wildlife experience you’ll never forget, across three distinct ecosystems in one incredible country.

Highlights:
  • Begin your adventure in Arusha, relaxing amid coffee plantations with views of Mount Meru at Gran Meliá.
  • Spot flamingos and tree-climbing lions in Lake Manyara before reaching the dramatic Ngorongoro Crater rim.
